Frequently asked questions.
How far in advance should I place my order?
Orders should be placed no later than two weeks prior to your event. This allows ample time for supply purchasing, baking, decorating and delivery. However, orders should be placed as far in advance as possible to ensure your date is available. As a one woman home bakery, my schedule is limited in the scope of orders I am able to accept. Orders placed within a 2-week window may be subject to a rush fee. A 20% non-refundable deposit may be required
Do you require a deposit?
For most orders, a 20% non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your date and allow me to purchase supplies. The remainder of your balance will be due upon delivery of the product.
How do I pay?
Volk Sweets accepts multiple forms of payment including:
Cash
Check (please make out to Nicole Volk)
Credit card (a small processing fee will be assessed)
PayPal
Venmo
When ordering, please indicate your preferred payment method for more details.
How do I receive my order? Do you deliver? Do you ship?
Local pick-up is the preferred method for providing your treats to you. Delivery is available, a delivery fee will be assessed based on location. Customers should express delivery needs up front. Shipping is also available for cookies and macarons upon request. A shipping fee will be added to the order, based on the size requirements of the box. Please note, in person pick-up and delivery are the best options for order fulfillment, as they provide the greatest safety to the desserts.
Do you have a minimum order requirement?
The minimum order for all treats is 1 dozen of any particular flavor or variety. Once these minimums are met, any number can be ordered, it does not have to be intervals of 6 or 12.
Do you offer samples?
Samples provide a great way to explore various flavor combinations when deciding what direction to take with your event. Samples are available for purchase for cakes and cupcakes. Please reach out for more information.
What is a licensed home bakery?
Volk Sweets operates out of my home kitchen. However, as a licensed home bakery, my kitchen has been inspected and approved to sell all baked treats by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
Is your kitchen nut-free?
Unfortunately, no. While I take every precaution to avoid contact with nut-based products, I cannot guarantee they are nut-free. Many of my products do contain nut products or peanut butter. These are baked separately than standard treats and dishes are washed thoroughly, but those with a severe allergy should be notified before consumption. Please discuss any allergy concerns when placing your order.
